Yep, a giant wave of molasses struck Boston in 1919. One person got it right, though they already confessed to looking it up first. A miss smarty pants in my senior ap biology class shared this. I don't remember much about biology but I've never forgotten this.

i remember seeing this in a multiple choice recently. i have no idea. molasses would have been my last choice. i have had molasses on my market list for 6 months. i can't bear to invest.
Wow, I had never heard of that before. How odd to die by drowning in molasses.
Molasses?...what? That is so crazy...I never heard that story before.
